Most of the native plants and seeds propagated on our farm originate from wild land collected seed ethically and sustainably harvested from locations within @ 120 miles of Osceola County. This process helps to conserve the genetic diversity of these local plant populations. These plants are better able to survive and thrive in northwest central Michigan and better support local birds, mammals and insects. The source, or Provenance, of all plants can be provided upon request. If a plant is not from this area it is noted in the listing. We have selected these plants for the pure enjoyment of having them in the garden. Although we consider ourselves to be primarily growers of truly native plants there are just some species we can’t help but include in our lists.
The availability of our plants and seeds changes often so it is a good idea to call/plan ahead if there is something specific that you are looking for. We also contract grow for large restoration and landscape projects. Currently we sell quarts (3.5” x 3.5” x 5”), plugs (2 1/8“ x 4 ¾”) and 2” pots (2 ¼” X 2 ¼” X 3”) upon request. The quarts are $5.00 each and there are 18 quarts/tray. If you purchase 15 quarts then you get 3 for free. So, 18 quarts costs $75.00. Plugs sell for $3.00 each or $49 for a full 38 cell plug tray. We can sometimes split a plug tray so if you want 2 species/tray and we have it available we will be glad to do this for you. If you prefer 2” pots then we can do those for you though you will need to plan ahead. Because of the shallow root system of these pots this is not a size we will keep many of in stock. Prices for the 2” pots tend to run around $3.00 each. These are nice for mixing and matching early in the season. Wholesale prices of 10% off are given when an order is over $500.00. 20% off is given when an order is over $2000. Deposits of 50% down are required for large orders with the balance due when plants are picked up. 20% of all retail sales are donated to the Michigan Audubon.
